Τότε γιατί η γαρδένια στέναξε
το ρολόι τού τοίχου γιατί σώπασε
και το γιασεμί γιατί αρνήθηκε
ν’ ανθίζει;
 
Και νόμιζες πώς ήξερες
 
Τότε γιατί άρχισες να κλαίς
αμέσως μετά που έφυγε και
γιατί δεν γύρισε το κεφάλι του
να σε κοιτάξει;
