POEM BY SOPHIA KOLOTOUROS
BILLIARDS
They hit me
since the beginning of the game.
I’m the cue ball.
My job is to guide
the other balls
to their positions
each to its place.
I’ll stay in the game
up to the end
my position
in the loneliness
of the immense green table.
I don’t match with
other balls.
Only the black ball
lonely like me
touches me a little
before the end of the game.
