In the whitish calm harbours,
double-masted towering ships,
with your lion shaped prows,
slowly rocking upon waves
of what do you dream? Of
which victories and of which
deaths?
And there weren’t armies
of warmongering emperors
under the triumphant
banners with eagles
nor were they infantry
nor horse-riding crusaders
that the wind pushed
over hastily
they weren’t Arab generals
dragging behind them
Arabian or Turkish army
nor were they devastating
blonde haired pirates;
